All this week we will be having IOWA Testing. This test is very helpful to teachers, as we use the results to target areas during the school year. It is very important that students get enough sleep and have a good breakfast during testing week.
Sixth Grade: Please note, we will finish IOWA testing on Monday, October 4th. Make-up tests will be held on October 5th if any subject areas were missed.
Parents: Please check Gradelink for the latest Art project grades.
Have a blessed week!

The First Full Week of School!
As amazing as it sounds, we are halfway through the first full week of school. That means we are already in the third week!!
Tonight is Back to School Night for the Junior High.
Tomorrow is Back to School Night for grades 1 - 5.
To the parents of both 4th and 6th graders: Hello! I'm glad you made it to our classes' blog!
Hopefully you were able to read through your child's "About Me" autobiography while you visited our classroom. Their self-portraits and autobiography covers will continue to decorate our bulletin boards for a while.
As we continue into the school year, let's please remember our classroom rules:
1. Follow directions the FIRST time they are given.
2. RESPECT
a) others (keep body parts to yourself; use positive words)
b) things (keep your desk/locker tidy; keep your books covered)
c) yourself (always do your best work; ask questions when you don't know something)
3. Let others have a chance.
a) to speak without interruption
b) to work in a quiet room
c) to listen without interruption
I'm looking forward to an exciting year full of learning!

The Year Has Begun!
Welcome back to school! I look forward to sharing an exciting year with my classes.
Tomorrow ends the first week of school. Isn't it nice to begin with 3 half-days? It really helps everyone to get back into the swing of things. I hope everyone enjoys the long Labor Day weekend coming up...don't forget: there's no school on Monday!
